Turbulent projects..

Watching some multi-projects organizations I’ve made an interesting observation on behaviour of their operations.

One can say that organizations deliver business value over time. However the delivery can take place in a structured way, with application of rules, processes and tools, or.. the organization can deliver the value creating environment for self-adjusting teams who work towards their goals.

Obviously, I came to a funny conclusion that organizations can be described with fluid dynamics rules. The delivery can be like laminar flow, when we talk about classic, waterfall project management with application of many procedures and processes, or turbulent flow when we think of agile methods in multi-projects environment.

The question is, what is the equivalent of Reynolds number in managing business?

Hopefully I will start some academic discussion on this topic.

In the meantime, I will park it at my webpage www.sidor.net.pl
